This book presents a concise method for identifying and classification clusters
of risks that lead to sudden death in persons with epilepsy (SUDEP). It
demonstrates how medical examiners, coroner's offices, emergency room
physicians, and attending physicians can use this system of risk factor
classification to detect and prevent the occurrence of SUDEP. The forensic SUDEP
Syndrome Clusters enables enhanced management of persons with epilepsy since the
attending physician will be able to identify those patients at a higher and
highest risk for death from SUDEP.
